Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Indie Games Showcase, operated by Ivan Katić in Croatia. By using the website, you agree to use it in accordance with these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Privacy and cookie practices are explained separately in our Privacy Policy.

1. What the website provides

Indie Games Showcase publishes video reviews, previews, gameplay, curated demos, developer trailers and release information about independent and AA games. Coverage is editorial information and opinion, not a promise that you will enjoy a game or that a product is suitable for you.

2. Editorial opinions and accuracy

Reviews and scores reflect the author’s experience with the reviewed version at the time of publication. Previews concern unfinished products or limited experiences. Updates may change a game after coverage is published. Prices, platforms, demo availability and release dates can change; check the relevant store or developer before making a purchase.

We aim to identify review copies and relevant commercial relationships where applicable. Providing a key, trailer, press material or product does not guarantee coverage or a positive opinion. Developer trailers are promotional material from their creators and are distinguished from our own coverage.

3. Acceptable use

You may browse, watch and share links for lawful purposes. Do not attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the website, bypass access controls, submit malicious code, impersonate someone, infringe others’ rights, or send spam, threats or unlawful content. Automated access must not interfere with normal operation or evade security restrictions.

4. Articles, branding and media

Original articles and site branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. Game artwork, screenshots, logos and embedded videos belong to their respective rights holders. Credits do not transfer ownership.

You may share page links and use quotations where allowed by law, with appropriate attribution. Republishing complete articles, using our branding commercially or distributing third-party media beyond its permitted use requires the relevant permission. Download buttons provide access to a file; they do not grant an unrestricted licence to its contents.

5. Media kit

The downloadable media kit is provided for press and partnership enquiries. Its figures and descriptions refer to the dates or brand stated in that document and may not reflect current results. Contact us for up-to-date information or permission for uses beyond identifying the publication in a genuine press or partnership context.

6. Contact submissions

By submitting a message, you confirm that the contact details are yours or that you have permission to use them. Include only information relevant to the enquiry and do not send unnecessary sensitive or confidential material. You retain rights in your submissions and permit us to use them to assess and respond to your request. Sending a message does not create a contract, guarantee a reply or authorise us to publish a private message.

The form requires acknowledgement of these terms and the Privacy Policy. That acknowledgement is not a subscription to marketing communications. If email delivery is unavailable, use the published email address instead.

7. External websites and services

Links to Steam, YouTube and other services are provided for convenience. Those providers control their content, products, availability and policies. Purchases, downloads and accounts on external services are governed by their terms. We are not the seller of games merely because we link to a store.

8. Availability and access

Functions may be changed, suspended or unavailable because of maintenance, technical issues or provider changes. Some areas require sign-in or editorial permissions. Access may be restricted to protect the service or respond to misuse, subject to applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted access or compatibility with every browser and device.

9. Responsibility and statutory rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website is provided as available without a guarantee that all information is complete, current or error-free. You remain responsible for checking important purchasing and compatibility details with the relevant provider.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricts mandatory consumer protections, or removes your data-protection rights. Any assessment of liability remains subject to applicable law and the circumstances.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Croatian law, subject to any mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights applicable to you, including those of consumers in their country of residence. Please contact info@indie-games.eu first so that we can try to resolve an issue. This does not prevent you from exercising legal rights or contacting a competent authority.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the website or law. The latest version and update date appear on this page. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. Questions, corrections, permission requests and complaints can be sent to info@indie-games.eu.

Guest comments

You may comment without creating an account. Provide a name, a valid private email and your message. Comments are published immediately and are not reviewed in advance. Your email is not shown publicly. Do not impersonate others or post personal information, harassment, unlawful material or spam. Guest names and email addresses are not verified identities. Spam protection may reject repeated or suspicious submissions.

You retain ownership of your comments and permit us to display them on this website while posted. Administrators may edit, hide, mark as spam or delete comments to manage the discussion and address abuse. Community opinions do not represent our editorial verdicts. To request correction or deletion, contact info@indie-games.eu; we may need proportionate information to verify the request.

Signed-in visitors start as Guests. The owner may assign Lead Editor, Writer or VIP status. Lead editors may edit and publish content; writers may create and edit only their own drafts. Administrator control remains reserved for the site owner. VIP currently identifies a manually assigned supporter and does not create a paid subscription or payment obligation.

Administrator access

Article, collection, trailer and comment management tools are restricted to the site administrator and protected by administrator authentication. Guest commenting grants no editing or administrator privileges.

Community ratings

Community scores are guest opinions, not verified purchases or our editorial verdict. Rate honestly based on your experience, using a score from 1 to 5 with at most one decimal. Do not manipulate scores through repeated browsers, cleared cookies or automated submissions. A repeat submission from the same browser updates its score for that game. The displayed average includes all published ratings equally; hidden and spam-marked ratings are excluded. Administrators may remove abusive or manipulated ratings. Review pages use ratings instead of comment discussions.
