Xbox Showcase Is Rumored To Be 2 Hours Long

Share:

According to insider Jeff Grubb, the upcoming Xbox June Showcase will be an extensive event lasting two hours and featuring 30 games. Grubb hinted at the duration and content of the showcase, saying, “Not to spoil anything, but the numbers I’m hearing are about two hours and thirty games. Ah, and, at least a handful of those games are stuff that we’ve never heard of before.”

The event, set for June 9 at 10 AM PT, will feature a double bill with the Xbox Games Showcase immediately followed by a special Call of Duty : Black Ops 6 Direct presentation.

The concept of fitting 30 games into a two-hour window is intriguing, as it averages out to about three and a half minutes per game, allowing for some additional commentary and presentation time. Given this format, it’s expected that a few games will receive more in-depth coverage. Likely candidates for detailed gameplay presentations include highly anticipated titles like Indiana Jones and Avowed, along with two other major releases yet to be disclosed.

In addition to these main attractions, rumors are swirling about Microsoft’s potential announcement of a new handheld gaming device. These speculations have intensified as the Xbox Games Showcase approaches. Notable insider eXtas1s, known for accurate Xbox-related leaks, has suggested that Microsoft is indeed preparing to unveil this new portable device during the event.

The insider eXtas1s has revealed that Xbox is set to introduce between 10 and 12 brand new first-party games during the showcase. Alongside these new game reveals, there is also speculation that Microsoft might shadow drop a new first-party exclusive right after the showcase. While the exact title remains unknown, there is speculation that it could be the long-rumored Gears of War remaster collection, a project that has been discussed for years but never officially confirmed.
