Capes, a turn-based strategy game that explores the world of superheroes, will release on May 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for €39.99. The King City Edition, in addition to the standard one, will be available for €44.99, providing eight alternate hero skins and a digital art book.
Twenty years ago, the supervillains won, creating a dystopian city where gaining superpowers was considered a crime. No one has been able to stop them ever since. Capes is a tactical superhero game where you assemble a team of heroes to bring the city back under your control. Through a series of campaigns and patrol missions, you can choose to continue with the main plot or explore side missions to unlock new heroes, improve skills and overcome challenges while discovering more about your heroes' lives.
Each hero has their own unique play style and requires a new approach to their powers and abilities. Understanding and harnessing their unique characteristics will allow them to use their personal ultimate powers. Also, partnership and positioning are key, as you can open up avenues for new tactics as you battle various enemies and supervillains. Your decisions will be crucial in determining the outcome of the battle.
Choose up to four heroes to cooperate in each mission, and each of them receives a unique cooperative ability from allies, allowing them to use their unique powers together. In addition, upgrade your heroes to gain access to new abilities and powerful upgrades, and complete special challenges specific to each hero during missions to earn additional skill points and unlock optional missions that provide a deeper insight into each hero.
