The studio behind last year's hit Saltsea Chronicles is also about to shut down

Indie studio Die Gute Fabrik, known for last year's impressive title Saltsea Chronicles, has stopped production entirely due to difficulties in securing funding. This studio also has signature titles such as 2019's Mutazione and 2014's local multiplayer compilation Sportfriends.

The studio suspended production last week, on February 19, announcing the news to support its members in finding new jobs. "The publishing and investment situation is currently challenging for a company and projects of our size," said Die Gute Fabrik in an official statement. The studio plans to continue its search for funding, and if it manages to secure it in the future, there is a possibility that it will restart its projects.

Die Gute Fabrik games will continue to be available for purchase, and the company noted via X that this is "the best way to support the studio". Founder Nils Deneken will take over running the studio while they seek funding, with both he and CEO Hannah Nicklin exploring new opportunities in the industry.
