Developer Awaceb and publisher Kepler Interactive announced during the PC Gaming Show event that Tchia, a love letter to New Caledonia, will launch on Steam in March 2024, with a host of new features and upgrades.
In an upcoming update, Tchia will introduce a clothing perk system, where each piece of equipment found in the world brings different improvements and benefits. This upgrade allows for additional environmental resistances or increased durability, providing more customization options. New cosmetic items will also be added, including brand new costumes and accessories hidden within island locations, allowing players to stand out from the crowd and express their personality.
New soul tunes are coming soon that allow you to play the ukulele and unlock new abilities. These abilities will help you explore the world in completely innovative ways, such as explosive powerful energies to knock fruit from trees or perform jumps and tricks in the sky.
Played by more than a million players since its launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and the Epic Games Store earlier this year, Tchia brings a unique sandbox experience. It invites players to explore a beautiful open world inspired by New Caledonia, the homeland of Awaceb's co-founder. Using her natural Soul-Jumping powers, Tchia can take control of almost any object or living thing she finds, giving her an advantage in combat and exploration.
