Publisher TopLitz Productions and developer Game Island have announced that first-person survival adventure Serum will release in Early Access for PC via Steam May 23.

During the roughly 12-month Early Access period, players can expect hours of exploration, crafting, and resource gathering. Core features include the ability to forge weapons, craft Serums using formulas, build elements of their home base, and hunt. The full release will introduce evolved crafting, tools, weapons, and exploration, along with refinements based on user feedback.

In Serum, players wake up in a world overtaken by a mysterious toxic substance, equipped with a strange device attached to their arm. To survive, they must extract Serum, battle dangerous creatures, solve puzzles, and uncover clues about past events. Players can explore the game’s various biomes, each with unique characteristics, and gather Serum from animals and plants.

Experimenting with different formulas of Serum allows players to enhance their abilities and prepare for encounters with mutated creatures. The game features a variety of weapons, including melee, ranged, and throwing options, which can be infused and modified using Serum. Players must manage their health, stamina, and Serum side effects while enduring the pressures of a hostile environment.

Serum offers both a solo experience and an online cooperative mode, allowing players to team up with friends to tackle the challenges of survival together. With stunning graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, Serum promises an immersive and thrilling adventure where life hangs in the balance and every decision matters.
