Dutch developers Ewoud & Nils have announced that their platformer, SCHiM, will be releasing on July 18th. The game will be available on Steam, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch for $24.99.

SCHiM is a charming game that revolves around helping a lost shadow find its way back to its human by hopping around in the shadows. As you navigate the world, you uncover small stories and charming details hidden in the environment. Everything in the world has a schim, and they should never be separated. The mission is to reunite the shadow with its human before it’s too late.

The game features unique 3D platforming mechanics, where movement is restricted to shadows. You must find clever ways to leap into the shadows of animated objects and moving beings, using them as pathways. SCHiM presents a beautiful abstract world, with each level’s color palette changing to capture the setting, time of day, and mood of the location being explored.

Each level in SCHiM tells its own story, featuring living scenery inspired by real Dutch and European cities and rural locations. You will find many hidden items throughout the game, helping other schim restore their connections.

SCHiM recently enjoyed a successful run during Steam Next Fest, surpassing 200,000 wishlists and attracting over 50,000 players. For those who missed the event, the demo is still available on Steam, offering a glimpse of the full release, which is now less than a month away.
