3D Realms and Pet Project Games announced that sci-fi co-op and horror shooter RIPOUT is coming out of Steam Early Access on May 28th. In this game, you go through abandoned spaceships full of terrifying monsters while collecting loot, solving various missions and upgrading your equipment.
For those who are not familiar, the Pet Gun in this game is the main gameplay mechanic. In addition to being able to attack enemies, jump on them, immobilize them, and deal heavy damage, the Pet Gun can also scan the area and be used for various cooperative tasks. Furthermore, in spaceships you can find different types of "pets" that you can pick up and use. For example, one pet shoots lasers, another can heal you, a third drops a spider web to stop enemies, and a fourth drops bombs.
Version 1.0 brings new levels and a brand new objective type, the Kill Zone, along with a number of balancing and game quality upgrades:
- Eight new levels for players to explore
- New Objective Type – Kill Zone: A new objective where players must eliminate a specific number of enemies at a certain section of the level
- Improved balancing for enemy health and damage based on player count and sector progress
- Quality-of-life updates, including sensitivity settings for keyboard and controller, the ability to toggle ADS, and more
- Cloud saves.
