Publisher tinyBuild and indie developers Hologryph and TowerHaus unveiled the first gameplay trailer for the open-world PvPvE extraction shooter, SAND, during tinyBuild Connect. In the trailer you can see the first view of the gigantic diesel-punk mechanisms, action, looting and surprises that await you in the vast desert world of SAND.

SAND is set in an alternate history, where the Austro-Hungarian Empire leads the colonization of space in the 19th century. Humanity travels among the stars, while the planet Sophie lies in ruins after an ecological disaster vaporized the world's oceans. Now only the bravest and most ruthless treasure hunters, working alone or in teams, search and fight across the deadly deserts of Sophia, abandoned settlements and other places in search of hidden riches.

In the game, you will control your giant walking mech Trampler to explore, loot valuables, destroy enemies and escape with your fortune and your life. SAND's combination of high-stakes PvPvE combat and instant draw will give you an exciting experience that's accessible yet challenging. You can also upgrade Trampler; its strength, armor and weapons or team up with other players to control this machine together.

Because of the Emergent Extraction mode, each new game is unique. Your adventures and experiences will change depending on the loot you find, the actions of other players, and events in the game world. Plus, adjust your strategies on the fly with the tools at hand and be ready for unforgettable surprises at every turn. Explore a massive, ever-changing, semi-procedurally generated world.

More details about the upcoming first playtest of the SAND game will be announced soon. Players can already sign in to Steam in order to be notified when the playtest begins later this summer.
