Originally exclusive to the Epic Games Store and released on PlayStation consoles on May 10, 2022, Salt and Sacrifice, the sequel to the beloved 2D soulslike Salt and Sanctuary from Ska Studios, is coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam tomorrow, November 7.

In Salt and Sacrifice, players take on the role of an inquisitor tasked with exploring the abandoned villages, dungeons, and tombs of the kingdom of Alterstone. With its exploratory side-scrolling platforming and intense combat, Salt and Sacrifice builds on the foundation laid by its 2016 predecessor, introducing an expanded selection of classes such as Highblade, Paladin, Assassin, Cleric, Dualist, Fighter, Ranger and Sage, each offers unique abilities and play styles, adding depth and variety to the gaming experience.

In addition, the game brings a mage hunt, which provides challenges in multiple parts that culminate in boss fights. Players will also discover enhanced PvP gameplay modes with additional moves and varied objectives, tailored to their chosen sect. For those who prefer to team up, Salt and Sacrifice offers two-player online and offline co-op.

While it may not have achieved the same level of excellence as its predecessor, Salt and Sacrifice was praised by critics for its good combat mechanics and abundance of customization options. However, some pointed to the shortcomings in the story and narrative elements as the main problem.
