During the Nordic Game Spring 2024 in Sweden, we had the opportunity to play Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken exclusively. This latest entry in the point-and-click psychological horror series from veteran developer scriptwelder and publisher Armor Games Studios offers a new demo version, which will be available during the Steam Next Fest from June 10-17.

You play as Amy, who delves deeper into the world of dreams to uncover the truth about her brother, whom she thought had died. Using the power of lucid dreaming, you must solve puzzles, explore fantastical and terrifying environments, and confront eerie adversaries. The game features randomized elements, multiple endings, and an entirely new soundtrack by composer Christopher Carlone.

For example, you will pass through distorted train stations, ominous forests, infinite libraries, and other nightmares. Additionally, it is crucial to use her trusty flashlight to illuminate darker areas, find keys to unlock doors, and discover essential items to navigate through each supernatural area.

The game is interesting and easy to play, but it contains challenging puzzles that can truly test your mind. The eerie atmosphere further enhances the overall gaming experience, making us very eager to see the final version of the game. The game features a 2D pixel-art style, while the inventory will be displayed in a 3D low-poly 360 format. There are also turn-based battles during which you can use weapons and skills acquired through exploration.

Deep Sleep: Labyrinth of the Forsaken is due out in 2024 for PC via Steam and will also be available on the Nintendo Switch platform.
