Developer Push On has revealed their latest game, Alkahest, an action-adventure RPG set in a dark medieval world. This game emphasizes satisfying melee combat within highly interactive environments. Players will dive into a rich fantasy world, exploring detailed locations, mastering the mystic arts of alchemy, and shaping their family legacy with each new adventure.
Inspired by games such as Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Dishonored, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance, Alkahest features creative combat that extensively uses physics and interactive environments. You can kick enemies off cliffs, drop trees on their heads, and do much more. On the other hand, alchemy plays a central role instead of traditional magic. You can follow recipes or mix ingredients, and these alchemical substances can be used in various ways, such as weapon oils or even as consumables, each with unpredictable outcomes.
Alkahest incorporates immersive simulation elements such as stealth mechanics, nonlinear gameplay, multiple gadgets to use, and creative combinations of these features. Additionally, enemies dynamically adapt, making the gameplay itself challenging and engaging. The game offers a first-person adventure balanced between scripted segments and free exploration of semi-open locations. The settings are grounded in realism, depicting the Middle Ages with a fantasy twist. Furthermore, the story includes the protagonist's personal drama, political intrigue, and interesting factions and characters.
