Project Haven is an immersive tactical turn-based game where you lead your mercenary squad

A few months ago, we had the opportunity to play a demo version of the turn-based tactical game Project Haven, which in its way of playing is reminiscent of XCOM and promises a lot. In the game, you lead a mercenary band of Steel Dragons through the urban streets of the last city on Earth.

In addition to singleplayer, you will be able to team up with three friends or other players in cooperative mode to play through procedural skirmishes in a world where tactical precision is essential. You'll manage and modify a arsenal of weapons, improve character skills, and enjoy a story-driven campaign with fully fleshed out characters and cut scenes.

Of course, you will not have only one character at your disposal, but a large number of them, you can choose them self-willingly, lead them on certain missions, and all of them have their own specific skills and personality. During the missions, you have to solve certain objectives, whether you want to sneak up on enemies or shoot everything in front of you. In fact, it will not be just shooting, but you will be expected to be very skilled in tactics and exploit the environment in the best possible way.

Project Haven also offers a switch between first and third person, with a modular injury feature, meaning you can wound an enemy to reduce their accuracy, shoot their legs to slow their movement, or simply throw grenades at them for a quick death. Likewise, hacking is of great importance, but so is breaking down walls and doors to reach your enemies.

There will be many weapons, from ranged ones to close range ones, and different types of ammunition for different situations. The higher level mercenaries are, the stronger they are, meaning you can enjoy a highly personalized experience leading your team of mercenaries.

Project Haven still doesn't have a specific release date, but it should be released on PC via Steam.
