During today's Devolver Direct presentation, indie studio Heart Machine (known for games like Hyper Light Drifter and Solar Ash) and Devolver Digital unveiled Possessor(s), a new dynamic adventure coming to PC and consoles in 2025.
You will take on the roles of Luce and her less cooperative companion, Rehm, as they explore a quarantined city, ravaged and flooded by an interdimensional catastrophe. Possessor(s) unfolds in a connected expanse of a destroyed megacity, from collapsed skyscrapers to an abandoned aquarium. The beautifully rendered 3D environment provides a stunning backdrop, while hand-drawn and animated characters bring the mysterious sci-fi horror action to life.
You can choose multiple paths in the open world as you attempt to uncover the truth behind the catastrophe. You'll encounter intriguing characters, each with their own story that unfolds in the aftermath of the devastation.
Gameplay focuses on precise, fast-paced platforming with a range of unique movement abilities that extend into tense, precise combat. You'll need to balance ground and aerial attacks, with combos and air strikes as you face various deadly enemies and challenging bosses. Additionally, you can find and unlock a wide array of powerful weapons and upgrades to strengthen your arsenal and explore previously inaccessible areas.
