Publisher CINEMAX GAMES and developer KO.DLL will release the fast-paced side-scrolling platformer BZZZT for Switch this summer. BZZZT first launched for PC via Steam on November 13, 2023.
BZZZT is described as a fast-paced "jump-dash-run" platformer that combines a nostalgic pixel-art look with modern gameplay design. The game was almost made by one developer, Karel Matejka, as a tribute to the beloved classic games.
Inspired by the technological revolution of the 80s, the game transports players to the year 4096, where they embark on an exciting adventure as ZX8000, a tiny robot with extraordinary skills, created by Doctor Emily and world-famous Professor Norbert. Players must pilot the ZX8000 through challenging platforming challenges to thwart the evil plans of mad scientist Badbert, who wants to unleash darkness and malice upon the world.
