In the Pirofauna, you take on the role of a small spark of flame wandering through a dark, misty forest. Your ability to set fire to anything your tail touches allows you to illuminate the darkness, help lost and frightened friends, and ward off hostile creatures. This power also makes it easier to interact with the environment and solve puzzles.
This exploration adventure game is still in the early stages of development. Developer Petums is currently experimenting with various directions for the game. Similar to Papetura, key elements will include a mystical atmosphere and the interplay of light, with the world once again crafted from paper. However, this time everything will be in three dimensions, adding extra depth to the overall experience.
The game emphasizes exploration and storytelling, featuring a unique fire motif inspired by the allure of fireworks. The bugs in the game are modeled after real-life species, each with distinct characters and behaviors. It is expected to be a worthy successor to Papetura, focusing on aiding the forest's inhabitants rather than engaging in combat.
Pyrofauna is coming to PC and Mac, and will also appear on consoles. The release date has not been set yet, but the developer promises that it won't take as long as the previous game, which was in development for 7 years.
