Publisher 3D Realms and developer Slipgate Ironworks have announced that the sequel to the well-received boomer shooter Ion Fury, Phantom Fury, will release for PC via Steam and GoG on April 23rd. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch are also planned, but no release date has yet been set.

Many years after battling Jadus Heskel, Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison wakes up in a new world after an old colleague awakens her from a coma. With a new bionic arm, she is tasked with securing a very dangerous artifact, the legendary Demon Core. Embarking on an intense journey across the US, Shelly faces various challenges as she overcomes her own past to save the future of humanity.

Experience an intense mix of bombastic action, fight your way through derelict hotels in Albuquerque, explore abandoned facilities in Los Alamos, secure the streets of Chicago and more. This environment is brought to life with an incredible amount of interactivity, where fully usable computers, helicopter flights and arcade machines are just a few examples of what you can expect.

You have more than 20 unique weapons at your disposal, and now all-new equipment like armor-piercing shotguns, electrified foam launchers, and drone deployments. By upgrading weapons and mods with all-new firepower, you'll gain the control you need to conquer each fight in a way that suits your playstyle.

Additionally, weapons are not the only way to overcome the challenges that await you. Upgrade your bionic arm and suit with powerful new abilities like a dash attack or an electric shield to defeat the various enemies that stand in your way.
