ONE BTN BOSSES is a shoot ’em up game developed by Midnight Munchies and co-published by them and Outersloth. This innovative game made its debut at the Summer Game Fest 2024, marking its entry under the new funding program from Outersloth.
In ONE BTN BOSSES, you control a ship that automatically orbits around the boss. The core mechanic revolves around pressing a single button, which changes the direction of the ship. However, the less you press, the faster your ship moves. The faster you move, the faster you shoot. The faster you shoot, the quicker you can defeat the bosses. You will need steady nerves and good timing to master this simple yet challenging control scheme.
Despite the "simple" controls, there is significant depth in customization. You can customize your ships by combining various attack and movement upgrades to create the perfect setup for each boss fight. For example, you can choose to shoot boomerangs instead of bullets. The possibilities are vast, providing a creative and strategic way of playing.
Ace the Announcer will guide you through 50 intense levels of boss battles in the campaign. Each level is designed to keep you coming back for more. For those seeking an even greater challenge beyond the campaign, ONE BTN BOSSES offers the Roguelike Rifts mode. This mode features randomly generated bosses, providing endless replayability. You can earn new upgrades and power-ups after every few battles, ensuring that no two runs are the same.
Additionally, you can compete on the leaderboards and show off your achievements to friends while striving for the best times. With branching paths and accessibility options, you can adjust the game to suit your play style - slow down or speed up enemy attacks, increase HP, and much more.
