Indie studio Flatter than Earth unveiled a teaser trailer for its upcoming debut game, Once Upon a Puppet. The game is expected to be released in 2024 and brings an exciting journey into the world of theater and puppetry, using a 2.5D puzzle-platformer format.
Once Upon a Puppet is a magical story that combines platforming, puzzles, deep stories and dangers lurking around every corner. The action takes place in a world ruled by a sad king who longs to create the perfect story. Players take on the roles of Nieve, a stage worker exiled to the world below the stage, and Drev, a doll connected to her by a magic coil and thread. As they struggle to break free and return to the theater above, they recount forgotten stories and uncover the dark secrets of the Understage.
Inspired by the art and beauty of theater, Once Upon a Puppet introduces players to the world of drama, where a live cast of characters, varied sets, collectible costumes, dramatic elements and heartfelt humor come together to create an experience that connects player and performer. Players will control both Dreva and Nieve, using the abilities granted by puppet threads to navigate through the magnificent environment.
Once Upon a Puppet will be available for PC via Steam in 2024, while availability on consoles and other platforms will be determined later.
