Publisher Rogue Games and developer Nunchaku Games launched Kickstarter campaign for the pixel art martial arts side-scrolling adventure game Moon Samurai, which they plan to release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in late 2025.

In the year 2080, the lunar city-state of RAM City undergoes its decline caused by a conflict between military factions and a totalitarian government, resulting in a war for Earth's independence. Protagonist Buddy, with the help of artificial intelligence DANAO_X, manages to escape from prison and embarks on a mission to save his city and the moon from impending destruction.

Players take on the role of a samurai, armed with cyber-implants, martial arts, a nunchaku and an energy katana. They navigate vivid pixel art lunar cityscapes, artificial jungles, military labs, nightclubs and more, using parkour mechanics to traverse the environment.

They will also engage in intense combat encounters with various enemies, using interactions with environmental objects to creatively deal with enemies. From smashing a street thug's head with a pool cue to smashing a bouncer's chair, players have multiple options to defeat their opponents. Face off against challenging but fair bosses like the electrified Shinwa or the airplane-wielding Akoto, testing your fighting skills and strategic thinking. Progress through the game by passing tests of strength, wits, courage, honor and compassion, unlocking several different endings driven by player choice.

Moon Samurai draws inspiration from classic action-adventure games such as Streets of Rage, Prince of Persia and Flashback. In addition, meticulously crafted pixel-art visuals bring the lunar landscapes and various locations to life, creating a visually stunning and immersive gaming experience.
