Publisher Rainy Frog and developer Rainy Night Creations have announced the modern retro stealth action game Spy Drops for Switch and PC (Steam). This game offers a blend of low-polygon, 3D stealth action reminiscent of the PlayStation era, updated with modern effects like lighting and shadows, randomly generated levels, and local multiplayer.
In Spy Drops, you are part of a counter-terrorist team tasked with stopping an eco-terrorist organization aiming to plunge the world into digital darkness. Your mission is to infiltrate enemy lines, gather intel, install spy devices, and rescue prisoners. As you progress, you begin to question your mission and uncover a deeper conspiracy.
The game features randomized mission layouts, making each gameplay experience unique. You can also choose how to approach each mission, whether by dodging, hacking, or eliminating guards. Stealth is rewarded, with more experience points earned for avoiding detection and not killing enemies.
Equip yourself with a variety of items and weapons such as drones, hacking devices, night vision goggles, sniper rifles, and taser guns. New equipment becomes available as the game progresses. Additionally, use the Dream Catcher to extract intel from unconscious guards and level up your stats, including health, stamina, aiming accuracy, and luck.
