Metroidvania Venture to the Vile releases in May for PC, and later this year for PlayStation

Publisher Aniplex and developer Cut to Bits have announced that metroidvania Venture to the Vile will release for PC via Steam on May 7, followed by PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 versions later this year.

Venture to the Vile invites you to immerse yourself in a deep story filled with unforgettable characters, while traversing an extremely dark world. On this journey, you will meet diverse and charismatic NPCs (about 40 of them) such as the scientist Dr. Crow, gentlemens Finch and Dove, but also town gossips Ernie Sparrow, Batty Badger, an eccentric tailor and many others.

Explore a dynamic Victorian-inspired world as the times of day and weather conditions change, shaping your gameplay experience, opening up new questions, unexpected upgrades, monsters and stories yet to be discovered. Unlike conventional 2D games where the backgrounds serve only as visual elements, in Venture to the Vile you are invited to explore and discover any area of the environment in front of you and which, of course, you can access.

But this game has its own unique approach that sets it apart from other metroidvania titles. As you surrender more and more to the vile, you will experience drastic changes, adopting more of its characteristics and becoming more and more grotesque and powerful. As the unrecognizable aspects increase, you gain impressive abilities that advance your progress in the game and increase your ability to overcome dangerous enemies.

It is important to point out that the development team of Cut to Bits is composed of experienced veterans of the gaming industry, who participated in the creation of titles such as GTA, Assassin's Creed, Far Cry and BioShock. They are committed to creating games that encourage deep reflection in players, that is, to encourage them to ask questions about the choices they make, the values they stand for, and the evaluation of their own points of view.
