Metroidvania Venture to the Vile delayed by two weeks

The Victorian-inspired metroidvania Venture to the Vile will now release on Steam May 22nd for €24.99, while the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions will arrive later this year. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available on the same day, and includes the original soundtrack and a digital copy of the game's beautiful comic book.

Venture to the Vile invites you to immerse yourself in a deep story filled with unforgettable characters, while traversing an extremely dark world. On this journey, you will meet diverse and charismatic NPCs (about 40 of them) such as the scientist Dr. Crow, gentlemens Finch and Dove, but also town gossips Ernie Sparrow, Batty Badger, an eccentric tailor and many others.

Explore a dynamic Victorian-inspired world as the times of day and weather conditions change, shaping your gameplay experience, opening up new questions, unexpected upgrades, monsters and stories yet to be discovered. Unlike conventional 2D games where the backgrounds serve only as visual elements, in Venture to the Vile you are invited to explore and discover any area of the environment in front of you and which, of course, you can access.

"Studio Cut to Bits was founded by industry veterans but this is our first time releasing a game as indie developers. As we approach release we have encountered some unanticipated hurdles. We all love Venture to the Vile and want to make sure we are delivering the best possible game we can for our players. For this reason, we have decided to delay our game by two weeks. I'm sorry to those who have been anticipating our game but I assure you it is going to be worth the wait."
