Orbit Studio, known for titles such as Retro Machina, the Haunted House reboot, and Ebenezer and the Invisible World, announced their latest project: Sky Dust. This Metroidvania side-scrolling action game is set in a cyberpunk universe and will be available for PC via Steam. However, a release date has not yet been revealed.

Sky Dust transports you into a future where society has collapsed following a global disaster, blurring the lines between morality and ethics. In this dystopian world, powerful individuals employ mercenaries to undertake various tasks, with data trafficking in the Cyberverse being the most prevalent. Assume the role of a mercenary embarking on a journey that affects both his life and the world around him. The game promises challenging combat, where enemies possess a range of moves and abilities, requiring you to engage strategically by dodging, parrying, and striking at certain moments.

The engaging gameplay loop of Sky Dust follows the Metroidvania tradition. You progress through the main campaign and collect money throughout the adventure. This money can be used to upgrade the character and engage in other activities within the game hub, adding depth and replayability. A unique feature of Sky Dust is its division into two distinct universes: the real world and the virtual Cyberverse. Both worlds have collapsed after the global disaster, and the protagonist has different abilities and skill trees tailored to each.
