Jason Blum announced the rework of horror game Fear the Spotlight during the Day of the Devs

Blumhouse Games, the new publisher backed by the producer of the film Five Nights at Freddy's, Jason Blum, unveiled the trailer for its debut title Fear the Spotlight during the Day of the Devs event.

Sunnyside High has a dark history. When Vivian enters the abandoned hallways with her rebellious friend Amy, she suddenly finds herself alone, confronted by a monster roaming the halls. Vivian must evade it, find Amy, and uncover the disturbing truth about a decades-old tragedy. The casual puzzles and story in Fear the Spotlight are reminiscent of the PlayStation 2 survival horror game ObsCure, which also follows teenagers trapped in a school with ghosts. The game also evokes cult teen movies such as The Craft and Happy Death Day from Blumhouse Productions.

Fear the Spotlight was initially available on Steam in 2023, but Cozy Game Pals removed it to add content, languages, and adapt the game for consoles. The game currently does not have a specific release date but is expected to be available on PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox later this year.
