Is Hollow Knight: Silksong releasing soon?

Share:

At Official Australian Classification Site, Hollow Knight: Silksong got a brand new PG rating. The classification is dated April 2 and does not reveal any direct details about the game. However, like any new rating, it suggests that the release date could be very close.

This also suggests that the studio might finally release more details about the game. However, Team Cherry has not officially confirmed anything, so this is just a speculation. The sequel to Hollow Knight was first announced a few years ago, with an initial release plan sometime in the first half of 2023. Unfortunately, Team Cherry later delayed the game's release because it had reportedly "become quite extensive."

The studio also hasn't officially confirmed a new release window for Silksong, nor has it offered any updates. Many Hollow Knight fans were hoping to hear news about the sequel during Nintendo's latest Direct in February, but that didn't happen. In fact, quite a few details about the sequel have been revealed, including various images and trailers, but it looks like the development of this game is just slow, implying that it will be very ambitious.

However, the final release of the game itself became a real Internet sensation. You can't watch a video game showcase right now without Silksong being mentioned. Social media has been flooded with fan pictures, memes and reactions, all in anticipation of the game or joking about the possibility that we won't hear any more news about it because it's been so long since the developers revealed any information related to the game.

What we do know for sure is that Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
