Inscryption developer Daniel Mullins revealed Pony Island 2: Panda Circus

Daniel Mullins, creator of acclaimed games like Inscryption and The Hex, appeared during The Game Awards 2023 event with the sequel to his popular and quirky 2016 game Pony Island. It is called Pony Island 2: Panda Circus and will be available on the Steam platform.

The original Pony Island was decidedly not about ponies, and its sequel promises to continue that tradition, offering a fantastical journey through time, myths, deities and video games. This time, you play a young nomad condemned to live out his untimely death inside The Earth Prison. The goal, Mullins explains on Pony Island 2's newly revealed Steam page, is to "escape the lordly deities of the underworld with your soul and your sanity."

Along the way, you'll bargain for your soul, winning or breaking the games of the underworld deities with nothing but your horse, your thumb drive, and your wits. Unsurprisingly, given Mullins' past, the Pony Island 2 announcement trailer looks absolutely wild, I won't even try to speculate on what's going on there.
