Indie studio Keoken Interactive also laid off several members in February

Share:

Keoken Interactive experienced few layoffs in February. According to CEO Koen Deetman, four of the 19 employees were fired. Deetman said the layoffs came after he and CEO Paul Deetman took "significant" pay cuts. Those cuts were so severe that the duo went without pay for months.

Keoken is known for the Deliver Us franchise, which consists of last year's Deliver Us Mars and 2018's Deliver Us the Moon. In his statement, Deetman said they “tried to protect the team as much as humanly possible. We are fighters and we fight every day to make sure this doesn't happen again." These are some of the smaller cases of layoffs this year, which has already seen a large number of them.

Given that Deliver Us Mars is only a few months old, it is currently unknown how these cuts will affect the future of Keoken or any other projects it may have in development.
