Despair: Blood Curse is a third-person survival horror game with non-linear gameplay, puzzles and enemies from the depths of hell, coming to PC via Steam and PlayStation consoles next year.

During the last Steam Next Fest, we had the opportunity to play Despair: Blood Curse, a title that, in addition to its aesthetics and graphics, will appeal to those who like shooters, but also to those who enjoy solving puzzles. Although it reminisces on the well-known Resident Evil franchise, Despair is still a project of one developer, Crimson Sequence.

The plot of this game revolves around the protagonist Anna receiving a disturbing letter from her sister that suggests that there is more than meets the eye, that is, that there are various mysteries behind her mother's death. Now the question before her is whether she will bravely go in search of the truth, and it is up to us as players to lead her on the right path while exploring the huge mansion.

In addition to shooting at enemies with various weapons, we will also be able to use an axe for close combat. The catch is that inventory space is limited and forces us to carefully manage our belongings as we prepare to travel into the unknown. Also, as in any similar game, it may be more useful to aim at the enemies head rather than their legs and arms.

We recently learned that Despair will be officially available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles, and on PC via Steam and GoG on January 10th next year.
