Project Loki, the free-to-play competitive squad-based hero battle royale, has been officially renamed SUPERVIVE, as announced by its developer, Theorycraft Games. An open beta is scheduled for late 2024, and a public playtest will be available from June 27 to July 4. Interested players can register to participate in this test here.

In each session, teams of four dive into a vast sky world, aiming to be the last team standing as the playable area shrinks due to a deadly storm. Teams drop onto an expansive map, kill monsters, and pursue various objectives to gain levels, rare powers, and equipment. These advantages help in defeating enemy teams, discovering unique strategies, and engaging in free-flowing combat. The game also promises no pay-for-power, only cosmetic unlocks.

The game features open-ended powers, items, abilities, and environmental interactions like jump pads, wall building, and gliding. You can engage in aerial combat, with instant knockouts when hit mid-glide and the low time-to-kill mechanic ensures highly lethal, skill-based combat.

It also introduces innovative comeback mechanics. You can revive downed teammates while still fighting, use “deathbox resurrections” to bring back dead allies, and perform full-squad revives at resurrection beacons. Additionally, the “most wanted” power-up can revive a squad if a player stays alive long enough or gets enough kills.

Key features of SUPERVIVE include the main mode called SQUADS, which consists of 10 teams per lobby, totaling 40 players, with four players per squad. Each game session lasts about 20 minutes and additional modes include duos and four-versus-four deathmatch. During playtests, over 15 hunters will be available, with more in development for launch.

Each hunter has a primary fire, four abilities, and a passive. Hunters can be unlocked through regular play via the Hunter’s Journey pass. There are three major hunter archetypes: Fighters, who deal high damage with low-to-medium utility; Protectors, who have moderate damage with supportive abilities; and Controllers, who possess moderate damage with space-controlling abilities.
