Aniplex and Acquire have revealed that their action game with dungeon-crawler elements, Ancient Weapon Holly, will be released on March 8th. Originally slated for PlayStation 5 and PC via the Steam platform, however the list has now been expanded to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch (PS4 release date still to be determined). A demo version of the game is already available at Steam.

The plot of the game, as described by Acquire, revolves around a time when advanced civilizations roamed the world and war engulfed the earth. Among the many weapons created, an autonomous weapon resembling a young girl was completed. With the ability to crack the ground like a whip, demolishing all buildings in its path and mercilessly killing people with its red eyes; people called this weapon Holly.

Due to its immense power, it was sealed deep within the earth. Thousands of years later, after waking up in a dark ruin full of magic, the only emotion Holly feels is an insurmountable hatred for humans. Despite her weapon functions being destroyed and now able to do minimal damage to the ground or walls, Holly's revenge continues.

As Holly, players must protect the sacred altar while facing a host of challenges and enemies. The game features intense combat where a moment's hesitation could be fatal. By defeating enemies, players can acquire items for various enhancements that further develop Holly and unlock new functions for the altar, which expands strategic and gameplay options. To succeed in this plan, they have to apply various tactics, for example, luring enemies into traps.
