Dredge and Dave the Diver are releasing a collab expansion next week

Two of the best "indie" games of the year, Dredge and Dave the Diver, decided to bring us a real treat next week by working together on a new expansion for Dave the Diver. The DLC will be released on Friday, December 15th, and this announcement comes from last night's The Game Awards 2023 event.

The trailer looks exactly as you would expect if you mixed the two games together. It includes scenes reminiscent of Dredge, but at the same time retains the aesthetics and gameplay characteristic of Dave the Diver. Fortunately, the official announcement points out that this is a free update for Dave the Diver, which will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC.

Basically, a new fog weather event is being introduced, bringing specific content from the world of Dredge later in the game. You will also be able to capture Aberrations, unique creatures with different attack patterns. In addition, you'll discover new “hooded figures” serving “unique” dishes made from the new Aberrant at your Bancho Sushi restaurant.

There will also be a new weapon, the Drain Gun, that can be crafted from the material of that fish. Finally, a brand new night map is coming, which should further emphasize the creepiness of deep sea diving.
