Astral Clocktower Studios announced that their highly anticipated dark fantasy ARPG, Kristala, will be available in Steam Early Access in May. With a brand new trailer, this cat-themed adventure comes to Steam after a successful Kickstarter campaign, which exceeded its initial goal of $10,000 by more than 10 times.
Perfectly blending elements of magic, stealth and parkour, Kristala transports players to the world of Ailur as a wild, feline warrior imbued with magical powers and the ability to harness the power of six sacred Crystals. Backed by a wide range of skills, weapons and armor, players will face off against a variety of enemies, from the gruesome Dalakin Crabs to bosses like the Rat King, using a combination of numerous attacks, weapon abilities and a mix of 16 spells.
"We plan on being in Early Access for approximately 12-18 months. Our development roadmap and the feedback we receive from our player base will directly impact how long Kristala is in Early Access before releasing a 1.0. For the Early Access release, we plan to have the core gameplay infrastructure and key features related to combat and exploration implemented", the studio said on Steam.
The full version will include additional levels, clan characters and corresponding spell trees, weapon types and talents, transition mechanics and cat-related skills. It will also feature additional boss fights, NPCs and quests, consumables, items, weapon and armor enhancements, story items, challenge modes, achievements, end game scenarios and other exciting features and functionality.
Astral Clocktower Studios is an independent game development studio founded in 2018 and owned by women. The studio also plans to release Kristala for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 later this year.
