Today Blizzard decided to surprise by launching its latest mobile game, Warcraft Rumble, a day earlier than expected. It's a free-to-play tower-defense strategy game that takes players into the famous world of World of Warcraft, featuring favorite characters from the franchise. It is the first new game set in the Warcraft universe in nearly ten years, the last being Hearthstone in 2014.
Warcraft Rumble features a single player campaign with 70 missions to complete. Players must gather their army, choose leaders such as Grommash or Jaina, and unleash powerful spells to defeat their opponents. Additionally, the game offers multiplayer features such as co-op and PVP, allowing players to engage in battles with friends or challenge opponents around the world.
The release of Warcraft Rumble coincides with the highly anticipated opening ceremony of BlizzCon, marking Blizzard's first in-person event since the start of the pandemic. There's a chance we'll hear news about other upcoming projects during the event, including the next season and expansion for Diablo 4, as well as a new survival game set in a brand new fantasy franchise led by ex-Far Cry boss Dan Hay.
