As you can probably tell from #BLUD's art style and character design, Exit 73 Studios, which is working on this project, is not only a development studio, but also an animation studio. Specifically, the studio previously collaborated with Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network on shows like OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes and that's where the inspiration for this game comes from.
This dungeon-crawler takes place in the middle of a vampire apocalypse, giving players an experience that blurs the lines between traditional RPGs and hyperkinetic 90s cartoons. The publisher of this game is Humble Games, so we are truly in for a very well crafted game.
You take on the role of Becky Brewster, the new kid in town who belongs to a line of ancient vampire hunters. In the game, we face demonic infestations in high school halls and shopping malls, take selfies with demonic forces to analyze their weaknesses, and upgrade our trusty hockey stick to attack enemies with. We also develop our hidden magical skills using grimoires and school supplies.
#BLUD will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam on June 18th.
