Alruna is a compact and high-density Metroidvania, with a focus on sequence-breaking and playing things out of order. Demo is also available on Steam.
It's a game that's compact, tightly designed, and packed with a significant amount of content, challenges, and features within a relatively small space or time frame. The square-format aspect ratio and single-screen level design allow each of the over 200 rooms to fit into larger, complete puzzle boxes. It's packed with various elements, intricately designed levels, and a rich and dense world for players to explore, and your way of exploring won't affect the overarching story.
The overworld connects all areas of the game with four large temples, each equipped with powerful upgrades and a terrifying boss. The game offers multiple endings, let's call them “combat ending” and “exploration ending”. In addition, you can discover hidden mini-games, various power-ups, shortcuts and secrets behind each wall.
Alruna will be available in the second quarter of this year on PC via Steam, and you can already play the demo version of this game on the mentioned platform.
