Publisher tinyBuild and developer Redemption Road Games today announced Kingmakers, a medieval sandbox title with elements of action and strategy. Players will take on the role of an elite unit operative sent back in time to a war-torn medieval England with a vast arsenal of modern weapons, and the mission is to change the course of history and prevent the apocalypse in the future.

Each battle takes place as a fully real-time simulation, involving thousands of soldiers fighting simultaneously. Advanced multi-threaded AI manages the decision-making and loyalty of each unit on the battlefield, and combines it with a unique procedural animation system, providing an unprecedented degree of character and combat fidelity.

In the game, you will have the ability to use assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, armored all-terrain vehicles, bicycles, attack helicopters, airstrikes and more to change the course of history. Plus, seamlessly switch between combat and issuing orders at any time, opening up endless strategic possibilities. Join legions of archers, swordsmen, spearmen and horsemen, build forts and plan your next move before heading back into battle.

Up to three players can lead their armies with your support in online gameplay. Work together to break down the defenses of an enemy castle or defend allied strongholds against hordes of opponents.

Kingmakers is coming to Steam in Early Access sometime this year.
