It seems that the team at Mixed Realms Pte Ltd studio likes to experiment with different genres and platforms. Three years ago they released the hugely successful deckbuilding RPG, Gordian Quest, while last year they released the VR first-person shooter, Hellsweeper. Their titles have been very high quality so far, and 13Z should confirm that reputation. This time, 13Z will be an action rougelite with hack & slash elements, which is something completely new for them.
Zodiac Trials invites you to an exciting world where animal spirits yearn for the title of the 13th Zodiac, facing demons and familiar guardians. This action-packed roguelike adventure puts you in the role of an outsider who dreams of heavenly glory, fighting in huge arenas with mighty structures. In the game, you choose from six animal spirits, each with their own unique abilities and play style. Whether you prefer the quick punches of the Fox, the aerial attacks of the Raven, or the ground-shaking power of the Panda, there's a character to suit your needs.
Dive deep into the upgrade system as you unlock a variety of modifiers to overcome the ever-changing challenges of the Zodiac Trials. Rewards include scrolls, the aforementioned upgrades and new characters, and you constantly have some objectives to solve from time to time. Additionally, there is a singleplayer game mode where you can hone your skills or team up with friends in co-op mode, where teamwork is key to defeating tougher enemies and bosses. For even bigger challenge, God Mode allows one player to control challenges and rewards for the entire team.
13Z still doesn't have a specific release date, but it will be available for PC via Steam.
